Delete your data
How to delete your account if you create causes, how to delete your signature if you signed one, what is erased and what remains.
In short
If you have an account on causfy.app, you delete it from the settings, without writing to anyone. It is deactivated immediately, your causes are marked as finished and remain published (unless you unpublish them) and you have 90 days to download your signers’ certificates.
If you signed a cause, you delete your signature with the link you received in the confirmation email. Your certificate is erased and your signature stops counting.
The only thing that cannot be erased is the fingerprint of each certificate on the blockchain, which contains no personal data.
Some data remains blocked for a time by legal obligation, without any use, and is then erased.
Deleting your account
1.1. From your Account settings, in the Privacy section, with the option to delete the account.
1.2. The Account is deactivated immediately and you can no longer sign in.
1.3. There is no need to write to anyone or give reasons.
1.4. Your causes are marked as finished and remain published, with your name as creator. If you do not want them to be, unpublish them before deleting the account or ask us afterwards. For 90 days you can download the Certificates of those who signed them and confirm that you have decrypted them; after that period they are erased.
Confirming it is you
2.1. When deleting the Account you are asked to confirm your identity with the sign-in method you have set up: a code sent to your email, your device passkey or two-step verification.
2.2. This is to check that the Account is yours and that nobody can delete someone else’s.
If you cannot access your account
3.1. There is no password: you sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, with your device passkey or with your Google, LinkedIn or Facebook account.
3.2. If you cannot sign in by any of those means, write to the address at the end of this page to recover access and request deletion.
3.3. If you signed in with Google, LinkedIn or Facebook, deletion is requested in the same way. Revoking that provider’s permission does not delete your Account: it continues to exist until you delete it from here.
What is erased
4.1. The Account, the profile and the personal data associated with your activity on the Platform, within the periods set out in the Privacy Policy.
4.2. The Certificates of your signers that you have not downloaded, after 90 days. Your causes are not erased: they remain published as finished, unless you unpublish them or ask us to.
4.3. Once erasure is complete, Causfy retains no means of identifying you or contacting you, except for what remains blocked by legal obligation.
What remains, and why
5.1. Data that we must keep by legal obligation or to deal with claims remains blocked: outside all use, with restricted access and available only to judges, courts and authorities. Payment records, 6 years, which is what commercial law requires; the data of your account and your causes, and the identity verification file, 5 years, which is the general limitation period. After that they are erased.
5.2. The fingerprint of each Certificate on the blockchain is permanent and cannot be erased. It contains no personal data and does not allow anyone to be identified, so it does not affect your right to erase your data.
Deleting your signature
6.1. If you signed a cause, you do not have an Account. You exercise your rights with the links in the confirmation email you received when signing.
6.2. Deleting your signature erases your Certificate and the record of the signature, and the signature stops counting. If the Creator of the cause had already downloaded your Certificate, they are obliged to erase their copy, and Causfy informs them.
6.3. With the same links you can unsubscribe from the cause’s updates.
6.4. If you do not have the email, write to us at the address at the end and we will help you locate your signature.
